Christmas 2021

Just wanted to share a quick update on what I've been up to this Christmas season. Late November and early December have turned into a flurry of Christmas preparation. Since a lot of the music this year will be pre-recorded, we've been busy taking care of that!

With the Island Breeze band, we filmed a set of music for a virtual Christmas banquet for Barkman Concrete. We hope to get some of the footage of that set up on social media.

At Emmanuel, we've been recording our Christmas Eve program. Our worship pastor Mike Burnard had to undergo surgery on his leg and was unable to participate, but I was able to fill in some of the space he left, playing electric guitar with the band, and also able to play acoustic with Michael and Lydia Summerville-Dueck.

In addition to that, we did a kids Christmas program, featuring a number of the kids from our church, as well as the whole Neufeld Family! These are the kinds of memories I treasure from childhood and am excited to help provide for others.

The other big project this month has been helping provide food hampers and toys with Community Christmas. As a team, we filled over 1300 boxes with about 20lbs of non-perishable items, over the course of four different days. We were also able to deliver some of the hampers, which was a real blessing to be able to see

some of the people on the receiving end. While we often don't know the whole story, my experience is that the hampers are appreciated and are important and meaningful to the recipients and their ability to enjoy their Christmas. My favorite is when there are kids at home during the delivery and they see the arrival of their Christmas presents.

Looking ahead, January should be an opportunity to take a little bit of a breather, although Free Servant at SBC will be starting right away. The next big thing with Island Breeze will be running the Bible Core Course school in February. Planning will be starting for worship in the city, and we'll be looking for opportunities to connect with churches for worship leading opportunities. Thank you for your continued prayers and support!
