New Years Review

Writer's picture: Jeffrey NeufeldJeffrey Neufeld

At the start of this new year, I wanted to take a minute to go over some of the highlights of this past year of ministry.

This summer really kicked off a return to live events and festivals. Every event we were

part of reported record attendance. One of my big projects continues to be chairing Worship in the City. I had a great experience working with local pastors to plan the service, and bringing together musicians from the community to lead worship.

Island Breeze continues to be part of many cultural events throughout the year. From Harvest festivals to the big stages of Winnipeg, the heart of Island Breeze performances is to share the joy of the island cultures and the message of God’s love for every culture and people. Visiting Midway Bible Camp during summer was my first opportunity to get into northern Manitoba.

One thing we noticed was the hunger of the kids for music,

to explore and understand the instruments and how eager they were to experience and enjoy any kind of music we had to offer. Through that experience God put a dream in our hearts to find a way to connect more with the kids of the north through music education. Someday, we would love to visit remote communities to bring some kind of music education and give more students the ability to explore the healing power of music for themselves. A future vision to pray about!

The other memory that sticks out from this year has been connecting with Love Lives Here, a weekly street outreach in downtown Winnipeg. Both with the Island Breeze band and with Rescue Story, we’ve been able to share joy and hope through music with people experiencing homelessness. These have been some of

the more intense experiences this year, but also an opportunity to sit down and listen and pray with people in desperate need.

Heading into this new year, please pray for us as a family, and for the opportunities God has in store for us this next year. Blessing Jeff Neufeld and Family
